NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY
WOW – WOW – WUBBZY!!!!!! . . . what a fun time I had last weekend in Paradise . . . Karen was the hostess (with the mostess) for National Scrapbook Day on Saturday at her store – Paradise Scrapbook Boutique – she began the fun by having a crop on Friday evening (and I left my camera at home again – so no pics) . . . there was lots friends (old & new), plenty of food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert & snacks), lots of laughter, free scrapbooking goodies (paper, ribbons, vintage bingo cards & bingo chips, butterflies, flowers, bling and do dad’s ) and PRIZES (I won the $25 store gift certificate Friday night) . . . I was thoroughly spoiled . . . I was also amazed that I even got some projects done . . . anyhooooooooo . . . here are few pics of some of the people who were able to attend this fun-fun-fun event . . .
Can’t wait for next years!!!!!!
CUPCAKE TREATS

THE CUPCAKE IS A GIFT CARD HOLDER! Isn’t it cute!!!! When I saw it on display at the scrapbooking store I knew I had to learn how to make them. They are made of paper and ribbon with flower sprinkles and a wooden cherry on top . . . it was a fun, fast evening (only had 2 hours to do this in – which explains why its a little crooked – I just tell everyone my stove legs need to be balanced again). We were given enough supplies in the kit to make 2 of these cuties . . . and I have started to make the other one at home . . .
SPRING TIME GETAWAY
This past weekend hubby and I were able to get away from home and spend it in Lake Tahoe/Reno, Nevada with friends. Greg is active in the Knights of Columbus here in Oroville and last weekend our KofC’s bowling leagues were involved in a bowling tournament in Reno – soooooooo . . . when our friends Jim & Ilene invited us to stay at their condo timeshare in Lake Tahoe we said YES! . . . (okay, I actually did a little dance of joy) . . . before I go any further though I think I should let you know that neither Greg or I bowl . . . well, actually we did a long long long time ago and we took the kids bowling for family fun but neither one of us were ever in a bowling league. On this trip Greg was our teams cheering squad/backup player in case someone was unable to participate (hey 2 of the guys are in their 80’s) and me, well I got to go shopping with the girls(YEA!!!!).
Anyhoooooo . . . we had a nice relaxing drive up to Lake Tahoe late Friday afternoon – stayed in for dinner and played Mexican Train domino’s with our friends and called it an early night (I know, I know – we are such party people don’t ya know) . . . well this is what greeted us the next morning . . .

can you believe it . . . IT SNOWED . . . this was not something that we were expecting . . . here is a picture of hubby and I in front of our snow covered car (there’s even ice hanging off the front bumper) . . .

anyhooooo . . . we got an early start to Reno (the guys tournament began at 9 am) . . . dropped the men off and we girls went immediately to a casino (hey the stores weren’t open yet so what else are you going to do) . . . we were able to hit a couple of outlets . . . have a relaxing lunch . . . and even go to a couple of scrapbook stores (my friends don’t scrapbook and they spent more money at these stores than I did) . . . we girls did all this before we had to be back at the bowling alley by 3 pm. When we got there the men were still doing their thing . . . so we cheered them on . . . when the tournament was over and the trophies were collected (our guys took first & second place, YAHOO!!!!) . . . we all did dinner . . . did some gambling . . . and headed back to Lake Tahoe for another quit night . . . BTW . . . when we got back to Lake Tahoe everything was dry . . . it didn’t look like it had snowed at all the night before . . .
Greg and I left Sunday afternoon . . . drove all around the lake (it’s been about 15 years since we were last there and boy have things changed . . . so may more casinos and homes . . . we were very surprised at this) . . . it was a fun weekend and way too short!!!
Oh and one more thing . . . I can’t believe I did this but I forgot my camera . . . so our friends were nice enough to share their camera with us . . . that’s all for now . . . until next time have a good day . . .
A BUDDING MIXED MEDIA ARTIST
Greetings Everyone . . . before I go outside to play in the dirt (it’s suppose to be a beautiful day here-just perfect for planting flowers) I thought that I would share with you a piece of artwork that my 3 year old graddaughter did in daycare . . .

. . . isn’t it PRETTY . . . I see a future scrapbooker/mixed media artist here . . . her art work resides on the kitchen refrigerator for now, but will soon be framed and placed on the hallway art gallery (this is another honey please do project I have planned for hubby) . . . so okay . . . those of you who know me know that the other reason it has to be framed is that Kyra’s YaYa (her name for me) would love to have some of those buttons . . . I have even accidently shaken it (have to keep it dust free you know) . . . but alas nothing has fallen off . . . got to find out what kind of glue that daycare center uses and get some . . . so anyhooooooooo . . . that’s all for now . . . HAVE A GREAT DAY . . .

The Rose Teacup Fairy
Well it looks like I am blogging again before the week is even over but I just couldn’t wait to share with you a picture of the exquisite Rose Teacup Fairy that my friend Cheryl made.
Cheryl not only creates beautiful scrapbook pages, she also does wonderful mixed art medium. This photo just cannot do it justice . . . so I am going to give you a brief description of Cheryl’s creation. Cheryl used a Royal Albert Bone China teacup upon which she floated a ceramic doll bust on a bed of moss and surrounded everything with little white blossoms and white roses that she sprayed with a glitter of yellow then orange mist. Embossed paper glitter wings are attached to the bust. And for that extra special touch that Cheryl is known for, she added a gorgeous little golden yellow rhinestone broach (which she said was originally an antique earring) to her fairy creation.
Cheryl was willing to give me this lovely work of art in exchange for my making her a few piddly crochet flowers . . . all I know is that I am the one who got the better end of this exchange . . . until next time . . .
P.S. . . . BTW my 3 year old granddaughter Kyra is the one who named it the Rose Teacup Fairy . . .
WHERE DID THE TIME GO?????
OH MY GOODNESS . . . where in the world did the time go . . . I can’t believe that on September 1st I started this blog and have not added anything to it since . . . a lot of life has happened in the last six months . . . some good . . . some not so good . . . OOPS . . . I just started a moment ago to list all the events that had happened during the past six months and realized that they were depressing . . . this is not why I started this blog so I deleted them . . . I know that some of the events will creep into this blog every now and then . . .
Anyhoooooo . . . I will shortly be sharing some of the pages that I have scrapbooked (along with some of my thoughts) and some of the crazyness of my family and friends who make my life most enjoyable . . . so please bear with me . . . right now I am trying to learn how to add pictures, links, etc and I will hopefully start blogging at least once a week (hey maybe that’s what I should have pledged for Lent instead of giving up sex) . . . till later . . .
WELCOME!!!
Hi and welcome to my blog. In case you haven’t notice I am new to blogging so please have patience with me. I will be over the next few days adding my profile, pictures, etc. . . . in the meantime I wish you a very relaxing day!
